H.E. Yousef Rashid Al Marshoudi, Director General of Fujairah Charity Association, stated: Coinciding with the International Day of Older Persons, which falls on the first of October each year, the Association joins elderly fathers and mothers in Fujairah in marking their day through the communication channels and cooperation committees established between the Association and the various cooperating entities, as an expression of Fujairah Charity Association's keenness to fulfil its social responsibility in providing the necessary support, particularly as the elderly are a group with its own standing and value among the segments of society. The Association continuously provides support to them alongside all other eligible groups, as it purchases medical equipment to serve the elderly, including wheelchairs, oxygen devices, medical supplies, and blood pressure and blood sugar measuring devices, in addition to activating follow-up care programmes for them in their homes.
He added: The Association's role is not limited to the medical aspect, but extends to include other aspects of support through rehabilitation, which provides services that match the needs of the elderly, who require special care and treatment.
Al Marshoudi affirmed that such support helps raise the morale of the elderly and makes them feel that society and its institutions stand with them, which strengthens aspects of social inclusion
