Saeed Al Raqbani: Union Pledge Day laid the foundation for the journey of a nation that has become a global model of leadership and development . H.E. Saeed bin Mohammed Al Raqbani, Special Advisor to H.H. the Ruler of Fujairah and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fujairah Charity Association, extended his highest congratulations and best wishes to H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, “may God protect him”, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God preserve him”, H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council of the Union and Rulers of the Emirates, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, and the people of the UAE, on the occasion of Union Pledge Day. His Excellency stated that Union Pledge Day represents an enduring historic and national milestone in the journey of the UAE, as on 18 July 1971 the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and his brothers the Rulers signed the Union Document and the Constitution, in a historic step that paved the way for the declaration of the establishment of the United Arab Emirates on 2 December of the same year, beginning the journey of a nation that has today become a global model of development, leadership and prosperity. His Excellency affirmed that the continuous civilisational and developmental achievements the UAE has made in various fields, foremost among them education, health, agriculture, the economy, innovation, space science and humanitarian work, reflect the success of the wise vision of the leadership, which has led the country into the ranks of the most advanced, competitive and influential countries in the world, through investing in people, empowering them, entrenching a culture of innovation, promoting the values of tolerance and coexistence, and building a sustainable development model that has earned international appreciation and praise. He added that celebrating Union Pledge Day renews in the hearts of the nation's citizens the meanings of loyalty and belonging, and reinforces the national responsibility to continue the journey of building and achievement, preserve national gains, and draw inspiration from the values of unity and cohesion established by the Founding Fathers, which were, still are and will remain the foundation of the UAE's strength and leadership. His Excellency concluded his statement by praying to God Almighty to perpetuate for the UAE the blessings of security, safety, stability and prosperity, to protect its wise leadership and grant it success in continuing the journey of progress and prosperity, and to bless H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, “may God protect and preserve him ”, with abundant health and wellbeing, guide his steps on the path of goodness, and bless his blessed efforts that are leading the UAE to further leadership and excellence at regional and global levels.
