Saeed Al Raqbani: Mohammed bin Rashid's message affirms that mercy is the foundation of social cohesion and the spirit of humanitarian work
H.E. Saeed bin Mohammed Al Raqbani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fujairah Charity Association, affirmed that the “Message of Mercy” addressed by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God preserve him, to the makers of good and the pioneers of humanitarian work, carries profound human meanings and embodies the approach of the UAE, firmly established in making mercy, giving and solidarity authentic values in the life of society and firm principles in its humanitarian and civilisational journey. His Excellency said: “H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, with his wisdom and humanitarian vision, expressed the essence of the message of charitable work when he affirmed that a society without mercy has no life. These are words that sum up a great humanitarian philosophy, affirming that the strength of societies is measured not only by the progress and prosperity they achieve, but by the mercy their people carry in their hearts, the good their hands offer, and the solidarity and compassion that unite them”. His Excellency added: “His Highness's message represents an inspiring call to all those working in the charitable and humanitarian sector to broaden the concept of charitable work beyond providing assistance to entrenching a culture of mercy in the family, the school and community institutions, and instilling the values of giving, empathy and humanitarian responsibility in the hearts of generations, ensuring the sustainability of good and maximising its impact”. His Excellency noted that the UAE, under its wise leadership, has presented to the world a civilised model of humanitarian work based on safeguarding human dignity, extending a helping hand to those in need and promoting community solidarity without discrimination, until mercy and giving have become an authentic part of the nation's identity and its message to the world. His Excellency added: “Under our wise leadership, which has made mercy, solidarity and giving a firm approach in the journey of the UAE, Fujairah Charity Association was established in 1987, and has since continued its humanitarian journey, with its mission and fields of work expanding year after year to include supporting education, caring for orphans and People of Determination, assisting patients and eligible families, Hifz Al Neama (food preservation), and the development and qualification of productive families, in addition to Waqf (endowment) projects and other humanitarian and community initiatives. It is a journey that embodies our belief that charitable work is not limited to providing assistance, but extends to empowering people, safeguarding their dignity, promoting the values of compassion and solidarity in society, and entrenching a culture of giving among future generations”. His Excellency affirmed that “Fujairah Charity Association draws from this noble message a renewed motivation to continue its humanitarian mission, develop its initiatives and programmes, and strengthen community partnership, in the belief that the greatest impact of charitable work is not limited to alleviating the suffering of those in need, but extends to instilling mercy in hearts and strengthening cohesion among members of society”. H.E. Saeed Al Raqbani concluded his statement saying: “The message of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is a message to each one of us that mercy should have a place in our conduct, our work and our dealings with others, and that we should make giving a daily culture and a shared responsibility. We ask God to protect our wise leadership, to perpetuate for the UAE the blessings of security, brotherhood and compassion, and to grant us all success in being makers of good and spreaders of hope and mercy in our society and the world”.
