H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Raqbani, Special Advisor to H.H. the Ruler of Fujairah and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fujairah Charity Association, commended the gracious directive of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God protect and preserve him, to designate 7 January of each year as “Zayed Founder's Day”, affirming that this directive embodies the wisdom of the wise leadership and its loyalty to the Founding Leader, and reflects the keenness of H.H. the President of the UAE that the approach, values and great legacy of Zayed remain present in the conscience of the nation and of successive generations.
His Excellency said: “We were fortunate to have lived in the time of the Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and to have known closely his wisdom, his humanity and his love for his nation and people. For us, Zayed is not merely a memory we return to on occasions; rather, he is present with us every day. We see his imprint in the human being whom he made the focus of development, in the land and sea to which his hands extended with giving and development, in our heritage which he safeguarded and preserved, in education to which he gave special attention, and in every inch of the land of the Emirates that bears witness to his vision and his great achievements”.
His Excellency added: “Although Sheikh Zayed, may God have mercy on him, is absent from us in body, his impact remains in our lives and his values are firmly rooted in our hearts, and the goodness, security, stability and prosperity we enjoy today are an extension of his blessed planting. Among God's greatest blessings upon us is that He has granted this nation a wise leadership, represented by H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God protect him, which continues the journey on Zayed's path, safeguards his legacy and takes the UAE towards broader horizons of progress and leadership”.
His Excellency affirmed that “Zayed Founder's Day” is not merely an annual national occasion, but a renewed message of loyalty and an opportunity to acquaint generations with what this great leader gave, and to entrench the fact that Zayed will remain present among us through his deeds and legacy, and through all the love, goodness and giving he planted in the land of the Emirates and the hearts of its people.
